Back to School

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Temple Sinai! Everything you need to get ready for school is below. Use the quick links to jump to the information you need.

    • Lab Back-to-School Day: Thursday, Aug 13  from 2-3pm​

    • Mandatory Parent Orientation (Zoom) on Thursday, Aug 13 – 7-8pm

    • Gan Back-to-School Day: Friday, Aug 14

      • TGS: 9–10am

      • PK2: 10–11am

      • PK3: 11–12pm

      • PK4: 12:30–1:30pm

    • First Day of School: Monday, Aug 17

    • Hot Lunch, Enrichment, Early and Aftercare begin on Monday, Aug 24

    Gan and Lab Drop off: 8:45–9:00
    Gan Pick up: 2:45–3:00 (Fridays 2:15–2:30)

    Lab pick up: 3:30-3:45 (Fridays 2:15-2:30)

  • Upload in Playground → Paperwork

    Required:

    • Birth certificate

    • Immunization record

    • Medical forms (#680 and #3040)

    • DCF forms (e-sign in app)

     

    Children may not start school until all forms are complete.

  • The Playground App is our main communication system.

    ​

    Use the app to:

    • Check children in and out

    • Receive messages from teachers

    • Update contact info

    • Upload paperwork

    • Add authorized guardians

    • Get important school-wide updates

    Important:
    Children will NOT be released to anyone not listed in the app. Please do not text teachers directly. Use Playground.

  • Our goal is a safe, fast, and easy transition for children.

     

    Carpool:

    • Display carpool tag at all times

    • Stay at your car during carpool

    • Pull all the way forward

    • Staff will come to you

    • Do not use your phone in the carpool circle

    • Do not change lanes

     

    If you arrive after 9am arrival please park and bring child to the front door.

     

    All children must be checked in / out in the Playground app.

     

    Early Care & After Care

    Early care: 8:00–8:30am (Children must arrive by 8:30am)
    After care: 3:00–5:30 (5:00 Fridays)

    No sign-up needed and billing is automatic based on Playground check-out.

    Rate: $15/hour (prorated)

    Begins: Aug 24

     

    After-School Enrichment

    Available for PK2, PK3, and PK4

    Time: 2:45–3:45
    Days: Monday–Thursday
    Cost: $27.50 per class

  • Please keep your child home if:

    • Fever in last 24 hours

    • Vomiting / diarrhea

    • Heavy cough / discharge

    • Rash / possible contagious illness

    • Too tired to participate

     

    Children must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning.

    Doctor note may be required.

  • We accept:

    VPK and Step Up for Students

     

    To receive funding:

    • Apply through the state

    • Upload VPK certificate in Playground

    • Submit your Step Up award information here

    • Step up - Approve payments in the state portal

    • VPK - Sign monthly attendance records

  • Class assignments are based on:

    • Age

    • Friendships

    • Learning style

    • Balance of class

    We do not accept teacher requests. All of our teachers are outstanding, loving and gifted educators. Placements announced at orientation.

  • Supplies

    Option 1: We buy everything and place it in your child’s classroom. Order now.

    Option 2: Buy yourself.

     

    In addition to these supplies, all children need:

    • Backpack (no wheels)

    • Water bottle

    • Change of clothes

    • Nap mat (TGS / PK2 / PK3)

    • Diapers if needed

    Hot Lunch

    Hot lunch is available throughout the school year.

    Orders due Sunday at noon for the week.

    Lunch begins Aug 24

    First Friday lunch is provided by Gan Sinai.

    Snackin' at Sinai

    Snackin' at Sinai is an optional program that provides healthy snacks for your child’s class when they are the class Super Star or President. Families who opt in do not need to shop or send in snacks.

    ​

    Snacks are provided for two weeks and typically include a variety of healthy options such as cheese, fresh fruit, dried fruit, granola minis, organic chips, baby carrots, hummus, apples, melon, and similar items. Click here to order.

Please complete all of the following before the first day:

✅ Download the Playground App

✅ Complete all required forms

✅ Upload immunization & medical forms (Children cannot begin school until all required forms are uploaded.)

✅ Add anyone who will be dropping off or picking up as a guardian in the app

✅ Create any carpools if your child will be traveling with another Gan/Lab student

✅ Review our Wellness policy

✅ Order supplies

✅ Upload VPK certificate / Step Up award number (if applicable)

✅ Order hot lunch (optional)

✅ Order snack (optional

✅ Sign up for enrichment (optional)
